One year ago, Chow's gymnasts Rachel Gowey, Alexis Vasquez and Norah Flatley were winning titles at the 2012 Level 10 J.O. National Championships. Today, they are training hard for this summer's elite qualifiers and national competitions.

Coach Liang Chow and the girls were recently featured in the Des Moines Register after returning from the April National Team Training Camp.

Chow was quoted saying, “I’m very happy with where we’re at, and I think we have a lot of work to do. We have to still develop the new skills and put up the higher degree of difficulties, the higher start values."

Chow says he's not only focusing on upgrades with the girls, but is putting more focus into developing gracefulness through dance training.

Gowey, the oldest of the three, has natural grace and long lines. At 15, she will compete in the tough senior division this summer while Flately and Vasquez, both 13, will compete as juniors. The article points out that this was Gowey's first visit to the famed Karolyi Ranch.

The trio will open their summer season at the Parkettes national elite qualifier in Allentown, Pa., on June 14-15. After that, there will be one more national qualifier down at the ranch. They're aiming to qualify for the U.S. Classic in Chicago and ultimately eyeing the U.S. Championships this August in Hartford.

Flately first caught our eye at a level 8 competition with her confident beam work. Since then, she's moved to Chow's and her beam skills have progressed at an incredible rate. This summer, it sounds like she'll be revealing an unthinkable combination! Chow shared that Flatley’s new beam routine features a sequence of a front aerial, front aerial, side aerial, split jump and back tuck all in combination! We have got to see that!
