Looking sharper than ever, the Lady Lions were clearly the superior team in warmup. Possessing cleaner lines and more dynamics and amplitude than their opponents, all Lindenwood needed to do was keep it together for their 2nd home meet of the season.

LU started strong on Vault posting a a solid 47.675 while Bowling Green got off to a rough start on bars posting a team score of 47.4. The Lions then went on to a great start on bars with anchor Alicia Floyd scoring a 9.575 right off the bat, later Trystien Charles scoring a 9.525. Even after Lauren Cartmell was rattled by a hard fall, the team pulled together with Courtney Heise and Emily Turik scoring a 9.75 and 9.6 respectively. However, Bowling Green had found their footing on vault, Jamilah Ali scoring a 9.825 on a huge yurchenko layout full, securing Bowling Green's lead.

Still rattled from bars, Lauren Cartmell fell on beam, leaving the team a little shakier than usual. Still they managed to set a team event score record posting a 48.1. But Bowling Green had pulled ahead by over a point counting no scores less than a 9.7; Alyssa Nocella an 9.85, the highest score on floor and of the entire meet.

Bowling Green had a solid beam set, scoring a total of 48.125 as the Lions put in a fierce effort to catch up on floor. But even after Courtney Heise scored an LU record-breaking 9.825, the team just couldn't close the gap posting a 48.475.

Only .7 shy, Lindenwood was defeated by Bowling Green 192.850 to 192.050.

Lindenwood may be a new team, but with their continued marked improvement of their team and individual event and all-around scores, they are certainly proving they are a fierce new competitor; Bowling Green didn't celebrate victory too hard as their win was not from as comfortable a lead as they would have liked.
