Shawn Johnson makes her long awaited return to Dancing with the Stars tonight on ABC. Winner of the 2009 Season with then partner Mark Ballas, Shawn is partnered with Derek Hough this time around. A gymnastics fan favorite known for her smile and bubbly personality, the Iowa native won the 2007 World All-Around title and picked up four medals at the 2008 Olympics, including a gold on the balance beam and silver in the all-around competition.

Training again with Coach Liang Chow, Shawn returned to elite gymnastics to vie for a spot on the 2012 Olympic team.  Unfortunately, Shawn was still suffering from the effects from a torn ACL she sustained while snow skiing. The knee injury hampered her training efforts for London and after contributing to a team gold medal at the 2011 Pan-American Games, Shawn made the difficult decision to retire.  With over 300,000 followers on twitter, it is clear that Shawn is still extremly popular.
