Pan American Games Men's Team Final: Results, Recap, & Finalists
Team Finals competition at the 2011 Pan American Games concluded with the Brazilian men capturing the gold medal ahead of Puerto Rico and the United States. Both Brazil and Puerto Rico competed their same teams who finished 13th and 14th respectively just two weeks ago at the World Championships in Tokyo.

The Brazilian gold medal team is made up of Francisco Barreto, Petrix Barbosa, Pericles Da Silva, former World Floor Champion Diego HypolitoSergio Sasaki who posted the top all around score of the day with 87.70, and 2011 World Rings silver medalist Arthur Zanetti. En route to their win, the Brazilian men posted the highest team total on floor (58.65), vault (62.80), and tied the US for 1st on rings (57.30).

The United States sent an entirely different team to Pan American Games than they sent to World Championships, and like Worlds, they ended up with the team bronze medal. However, if you take the US Pan American Games team's scores and stack them up with World Championships scoring, they would have finished a shocking 17th place as a team.

The US men had mistakes throughout the day including a fluke fall on floor from 2010 World team member Brandon Wynn, appearing to get lost in the air on a tumbling pass, an uncharacteristically poor pommel horse routine from CJ Maestas, and reigning NCAA parallel bars champion Tyler Mizoguchi did not deliver on his best event. The biggest dent in the US team total came on pommel horse where they totaled only a 52.40 with the highest score coming from newcomer Donothan Bailey at 13.90.

There were some bright spots for the US men including Paul Ruggeri on high bar and vault, Brandon Wynn and CJ Maestas on rings, and Sho Nakamori on parallel bars. Each of these routines will have a chance for medals in the event finals.

Below are the results for the 2011 Pan American Games Team Finals, and the complete list of gymnasts who will advance to individual all around and event finals. Due to meet rules, only two gymnasts per country may advance to finals.
