Get Involved With National Gymnastics Day 2011!

This weekend, USA Gymnastics hopes to have gymnastics teams and fans across the nation to participate in the attempt to break the world record of most simultaneous handstands!

This Saturday, September 17th is National Gymnastics Day, and USA Gymnastics is calling all gymnasts to simultaneously show off their best handstands at 1 p.m. ET.

The current record is 2,402 set by Victorian gymnasts in Melbourne, Australia before the 2005 World Gymnastics Championships. Later that year, the US made an attempt to break it but fell short with just 1,072 gymnasts in Indianapolis, Ind. This Saturday, in celebration of National Gymnastics Day, let’s all join together to set a new world record!

This fun day of handstands is also a great way to raise funds your local Children’s Miracle Network hospital.

These gymnastics clubs across the nation have already committed to participating:

·        Broadway Gymnastics School Inc., in Los Angeles

·        Chicago Park District in Chicago, Ill.

·        Cincinnati Gymnastics in Fairfield, Ohio

·        Colorado Aerials Gymnastics Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

·        DeVeau’s School of Gymnastics in Fishers, Ind.

·        Gymnastics World, Inc., in Broadview Heights, Ohio

·        Massachusetts Gymnastics Center in Waltham, Mass.

·        Mini-Hops Gymnastics in Minnetonka, Minn.

·        NYC Elite Gymnastics in New York, N.Y.

Will you and your club be joining in on the fun? Show us pictures and videos of how you celebrated National Gymnastics Day!
