Last we heard, 2008 Olympian Shawn Johnson was to make her return to competition at the 2011 Visa Championships in St. Paul, but coach Liang Chow has confirmed that Johnson will indeed make her debut at the the CoverGirl Classic in Chicago in just three weeks on July 23rd!

Chow told IG that Johnson will compete two events at both meets. Her knee injury will keep her out of the all around. 

Johnson announced her comeback to the sport in May 2010 shortly after having knee surgery to repair her torn ACL. She began attending training camps at the Karolyi Ranch in November, and by February of 2011 she had regained her spot on the US Senior National team. 

This will be Johnson's first gymnastics competition since the Beijing Olympics, and gymnastike will be in Chicago for all the coverage!
