After a week off for the Winter Cup Challenge, the men's NCAA teams were back in action this past weekend. Oklahoma moved up to #1 in the nation after Steven Legendre led his team to a win at Nebraska with a massive 92.20 all around score. Legendre also took back the OU school record on vault from teammate Jake Dalton with an incredible 16.70 score. That one is going to be hard to top. 

Illinois moved up 1 spot from #3 last week but struggled this past weekend with the loss of senior standout and 2010 World team alternate Paul Ruggeri. Ruggeri was injured while vaulting on the final day of Winter Cup. He will have surgery to repair a ruptured ligament in his ankle and miss the remainder of the season. Good news is he will likely be eligible to redshirt and return for a 5th year.

Now for the really bad news - it appears the decision to cut Cal men's gymnastics is final and was announced on Friday. Surprisingly, they've decided to keep the women's team but showed no remorse for the men who made a great fundraising effort. Thank you to everyone who made efforts to support the program. We'll continue to keep you updated as any further information comes available. Regardless of this fact, the Cal men's team is continuing to fight for their program and are having a great season. If you're in the Bay area please get out to a meet and support these guys!
