Free D-D!

A clever, fun idea. Here's the release from LSU:

"BATON ROUGE - Help free D-D!

LSU gymnastics head coach D-D Breaux is going to live and spend the night inside a tent in the LSU SportShop beginning Thursday, and she will remain there until Dec. 21 unless she reaches her goal of selling 200 gymnastics season tickets.

Tickets are only $25 for adults and $15 for youth ages 3-12, and LSU gymnastics season tickets can be a the perfect holiday gift for the family.

Fans can purchase season tickets by visiting www.LSUtix.net or by calling the LSU Athletics Ticket Office at 225-578-2184 or toll free at 1-800-960-8587.

Stop by the SportShop, visit with D-D and free her by helping her reach the goal.

The SportShop is located on campus next to Mike's Habitat on North Stadium Drive.

The SportShop's business hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Store hours may vary on basketball home game days.

By purchasing season tickets, fans can see five great home meets in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, including duels with third-ranked Florida, seventh-ranked Georgia and No. 11 Arkansas."

D-D has just moved in and made herself at home:

University of Utah was one of the first Universities to offer season tickets for gymnastics, and it wasn't easy even there. In an interview with head coach Greg Marsden, he admitted it was a battle with his department to even let him sell season tickets for gymnastics. They felt it was a waste of their time. Fortunately, Greg proved them wrong and now they are leading the nation in season ticket holders.

I'm not surprised D-D is doing this. She's been with LSU Gymnastics since the beginning and has always taken a grassroots approach to fight to build the program. Here's some insight into D-D's philosophy, an interview with us from 2009 talking about building women's gymnastics at LSU:

So if you're in the Baton Rouge area, or have friends and family who are fans of LSU please spread the word! Good luck, D-D!
