2010 World Championships GOLD Medal Routines

The 2010 World Championships came to a close over the weekend in Rotterdam. Over 600 gymnasts competed at this year's Worlds but only 12 individuals were crowned as World Champions. Here's a look back at the 2010 Gold Medallists and their winning routines.

2010 Women's All Around Champion: Aliya Mustafina, Russia, 61.032

She started off the night with a fantastic Amanar vault to take the lead which she was able to hold until the final event. She secured her gold medal by hitting an excellent floor routine, exactly like she had done in the team final just 2 nights before. Here's a look at Mustafina's 4 events in the All Around final:

2010 Men's All Around Champion: Kohei Uchimura, Japan, 92.331

Simply put, the guy is a beast. After not training pommel horse or rings all week due to a shoulder injury, he toughed it out for the all around and you never would have known the shoulder was an issue. It was a great competition for 2nd place amongst the other guys, but Uchimura is clearly in a league of his own.

2010 Men's Floor Champion: Eleftherios Kosmidis, Greece, 15.70 (6.6/9.10)

At just 19 years old, this likely isn't the last medal he'll win! He had respectable difficulty and a clean set. It was so cute when the final scores went up, he lept onto his coach for a big hug.

2010 Women's Vault Champion: Alicia Sacramone, USA, 15.20 average (15.40 for 1st, 15.00 for 2nd)

After retiring from gymnastics in 2008 then making a surprise comeback early this year, Alicia finally won gold on her best event! She was the first competitor up, and her score of 15.20 held throughout the final.

2010 Pommel Horse Champion: Krisztian Berki, Hungary, 15.833 (6.7/9.133)

In what was a very diverse pommel horse final (8 competitors from 8 countries, none of which were your typical gymnastics powerhouses), the Hungarian won gold. Berki was the first competitor up and just like Alicia, he was lucky enough for his score to hold!

2010 Uneven Bars Champion: Beth Tweddle, Britain, 15.733 (6.8/8.933)

This final was one of the craziest! Defending World & Olympic Champion He Kexin of China was up first. Everything was going well until she fell on her laid out jaeger. The whole place gasped in astonishment. No medal for Kexin. Then teammate Huang Quishaung who qualified 2nd into the uneven bar final behind He was up 2nd. Toward the end of her wonderful set she peeled off the low bar doing a half pirouette to toe shoot. Crazy! So the top 2 girls took themselves out of it. Tweddle was 3rd up and performed the same amazing routine she's been doing here all week. She'd told us earlier in the week she was thinking of attempting her tucked double twisting double tuck dismount, but she didn't need it. Check out all of the combinations in this set:

2010 Still Rings Champion: Chen Yibing, China, 15.90 (6.8/9.10)

Chen Yibing was the defending Olympic Rings Champion and his Chinese teammate Yan Mingyong was the defending World Champion. They dominated the competition. Chen beat out Yan who won silver with the same difficulty score by earning 2 tenths higher on his E score.

2010 Men's Vault Champion: Thomas Bouhail, France, 16.449

This was an extremely impressive final! The top 5 finishers all competed two 7.0 Start Value vaults, each scoring better than a 9.1 in execution on both of the vaults. Bouhail had the best execution score of the day for his 2nd vault, 9.533.

2010 Balance Beam Champion: Ana Porgras, Romania, 15.366 (6.5/8.866)

The world "lovely" and Ana Porgras go hand in hand. Ana won beam with artistry, difficulty, and decent execution.

2010 Parallel Bars Champion: Feng Zhe, China, 15.966 (6.7/9.266)

Feng had the largest margin of victory in the 2010 Finals, 3 1/2 tenths, but China went 1-2 on P Bars as Teng Haibin won silver.

2010 Women's Floor Champion: Lauren Mitchell, Australia, 14.833 (5.9/8.933)

The floor final had more mistakes than most. Defending Olympic Champion Sandra Izbasa took herself out of it with 2 big out of bounds dedections, Sui Lu downgraded one of her passes, and Ksenia Afanasyeva had 2 falls. Lauren Mitchell was the last competitor up and had to beat 14.766 for gold. She hit a decent set, even she admits she could have done better, but in this final it was enough for Gold! This is the first World Championship title for an Australian gymnast.

2010 High Bar Champion: Zhang Chenglong, China, 16.166 (7.5/8.666)

The Chinese didn't even bring defending World & Olympic High Bar Champion, Zou Kai, to Rotterdam, yet they still managed to win this title. It's hard to believe he beat Epke Zonderland's thrilling routine, but he made it happen with a D score 2 tenths higher than Epke.
