Wang made the all-around finals in Rio and placed sixth at the end of the competition. Wang and Fan were also on China's silver medal 2015 World Championships team. Fan was part of the historic four-way tie for gold on bars at 2015 Worlds, tying with USA's Madison Kocian and Russians Daria Spiridonova and Viktoria Komova.

Shang Chunsong -- a fan favorite and Olympic veteran -- was named a reserve athlete for this year's worlds.

The men's team also has 2016 Olympic team members: Lin Chaopan, Liu Yang, and Zhang Chenglong. The men earned a bronze medal in the team competition. Deng Shudi -- who made the all-around and parallel bars finals in Rio -- was named an alternate.
