Brittney Harris Named MSU Gymnastics Assistant Coach
Michigan State gymnastics head coach Mike Rowe has added Brittney Harris as an assistant coach to complete his coaching staff for the Spartans.

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State gymnastics head coach Mike Rowe has added Brittney Harris as an assistant coach to complete his coaching staff for the Spartans.
“We are pleased to have Brittney Harris join our staff as an assistant coach for the Spartan Gymnastics team,” said Rowe, who coached Harris at Pittsburgh where Rowe was assistant coach. “I have known Brittney for many years, including having had the pleasure of coaching her at the University of Pittsburgh and observing her growth as a Junior Olympic coach with numerous elite-level programs."
“I’m honored and excited to be part of the Spartan gymnastics program! I would like to thank Mike Rowe, Nicole Curler and MSU athletics for giving me this opportunity," Harris said.
She also has club coaching experience with All-Star Athletics and Gymnastics in Pittsburgh in addition to Aerial Port Gymnastics Training Center in Fairmont, West Virginia.
Harris earned her bachelor’s degree in arts, media and professional communications from Pittsburgh in 2014 and her master’s degree in athletic coaching education from West Virginia in 2016. While at Pittsburgh, she had an internship with the Pittsburgh Penguins’ Youth & Amateur Hockey Department.

Brittney brings unbridled enthusiasm, passion and technical knowledge with spotting abilities that, along with her desire to succeed and win, made her an ideal candidate for our program. We are anxious to get her to East Lansing to begin her role towards raising the Spartans to new heights!A native of Easton, Pennsylvania, Harris comes to MSU after coaching for one season at her hometown club, Parkettes National Gymnastics Training Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the same club that she competed for prior to competing as a standout gymnast at Pittsburgh. She earned East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Team MVP honors for the Panthers in 2014, in addition to earning first-team All-EAGL honors and first-team All-Tournament accolades on the way to qualifying for the NCAA Regional Championships as an all-arounder. Harris has competition experience at Michigan State’s Jenison Field House, as she won the individual title on vault in a dual against MSU on Jan. 18, 2014. She finished her gymnastics career at West Virginia in 2015 as a fifth-year senior.

I’m confident my knowledge and experience will help the team succeed. This is a dream come true.At Parkettes, Harris coached Level 10 and Level 8 competitive team members on all four events, while assisting with the Elite groups, as well as creating and implementing Level 10 conditioning programs. She also attended the Forster and Resnick Uneven Bar Boot Camp Clinic and the Junior Olympic National Training Camp at the National Team Training Center in Texas.
