Senior International Elite Christina Desiderio announced she will be heading to LSU early and plans to join the team this fall for the 2017-2018 season. Desiderio trains at Parkettes and is a two year U.S. National Team Member.

Desiderio was originally planning to join the Tigers next fall. She told FloGymnastics,
The opportunity came about unexpectedly so I decided to take advantage of it! My body wasn't letting me train like I needed to for elite so I decided this was the best decision for me! I'm sad leaving Parkettes but they will always be my family. Can't wait to be a part of this AMAZING team! I have less than 1 month to go!
Desiderio had a strong 2016 season and was part of the top group of U.S. elites making a run for Rio. She competed at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, posting solid scores on both days and finishing sixth on beam.

An impressive all-around gymnast, Desiderio will be a great asset to the Tigers, adding depth on all events. She is particularly known for her power and incredible tumbling, and is best at beam and floor.
