YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Eastern Michigan University Interim Vice President/Director of Athletics Erin Kido announced today, June 28, that Women's Gymnastics Head Coach Josh Nilson has resigned his position for personal reasons.

"We are disappointed to learn of Josh's decision, but wish him and his family well," said Kido. "Our unwavering goal remains to hire a dynamic leader that will provide a tremendous championship environment for our student-athletes."
We will re-open the search process immediately with the hope of finding a replacement very soon.
Nilson was hired on June 9 and was set to officially join the department in July.

"With a heart full of gratitude I have to resign from my position at EMU," added Nilson. "This program has a great future ahead of it, and for personal family reasons I would not be able to give 100 percent to this position."
I cannot, in clear conscience, accept a position that I cannot give my all to. I am going to focus on my family for a while.
