While the J.O. National Championships don't have anything to do with college gymnastics, it's fun to pretend they do! Many gymnasts who competed at nationals this year have already committed to colleges, and we took a look at where they finished this weekend to determine which college had the best competition.

Analyzing the number of gymnasts each college had competing, their scores, as well as their individual placement, we determined which college teams had the best showing at J.O.s. To be in these rankings, the NCAA teams must have had at least five commits competing. Below are the top five schools. (These total numbers may not be completely accurate due to the nature of undocumented verbal commitments).

1. Michigan

Michigan had 11 gymnasts competing, the most out of any school, and the average score for all of these gymnasts was a 37.9. Five of these gymnasts placed in the top four, making the J.O. National Team, and nine of these gymnasts placed in the top ten. Additionally, Michigan had a remarkable seven gymnasts who posted an all-around score above a 38.

Five future Bama gymnasts also made the J.O. National Team, which was the final factor that bumped them to the second spot.

Many top NCAA teams like Florida and UCLA have committed elite gymnasts who don't compete in level 10, and therefore weren't at nationals. As mentioned, to try to get a more balanced look, we only ranked teams with more than four gymnasts competing.

While LSU only had three gymnasts, two of them won the all-around in their age divisions and all of them scored about 38s. Haleigh Bryant and Kai Rivers won all-around and Bailey Ferrer placed third.

Another notable team is Stanford who also had three competitors. Rachael Flam won all-around, Lauren Navarro placed second, and Taylor Lawson placed 10th. Again, all three gymnasts posted scores above a 38.
