Championship Notes

This is the 36th National Collegiate Women's Gymnastics Championships.

Oklahoma claimed its second consecutive National Championship. It also marks the Sooners' third title in the last four years.

The Sooners' 198.3875 set the NCAA record for a team score in a Super Six, topping the previous mark established by OU and Florida (198.1750) at the 2014 NCAA Championships.

Oklahoma's 0.65 margin of victory is the highest since Georgia defeated second-place Utah by 0.95 (197.750-196.800) in 2006.

The Sooners posted an NCAA Championships record 49.700 on beam, besting the old high of 49.600 set by UCLA in 2004.

LSU finished second overall for the second year in a row to tie the team's highest-ever finish.

Three different gymnasts, Florida's Alex McMurtry (bars), Oklahoma's Maggie Nichols (beam) and UCLA's Peng-Peng Lee (beam) all scored 10s. This is the first time since 2009 that there have been three perfect 10s at the national championship and the first time since 2005 that there have been three during Super Six competition.

Nichols and Lee's 10s on beam were only the fourth and fifth perfect scores on the event in Championships history and the only two ever during Super Six Finals.

Team Notes

Florida took third in the NCAA Super Six. The Gators have finished in the top four in each of the last six NCAA Super Six competitions (first -- 2013, 2014, 2015; second -- 2012; third -- 2017 & fourth -- 2016)

Alabama is the only school to finish in the top six at NCAA Championships each of the last 10 years.

UCLA has scored 10 perfect 10s this season -- four by Kyla Ross (2 bars, 2 on beam), three by Peng-Peng Lee (2 bars, 1 beam), two by Katelyn Ohashi (2 beam) and one by Madison Kocian (bars)

Saturday marked Oklahoma's fifth straight and seventh overall trip to the team finals. In each of their seven Super Six appearances, the Sooners have finished within the top three.

Oklahoma posted a perfect 33-0 record, its first undefeated season in program history.

Individual Notes

Alex McMurtry tallied the first Gator 10 on bars in NCAA Championships' competition. UF's Susan Hines scored vault 10.0s in 1998 NCAA semifinal and Super Six competition as the only other Gator 10.0s in the program's history.

UCLA's Peng-Peng Lee's 10 on beam was the first of her career and her third 10 of the season (she had two 10s on bars prior to tonight)

McMurtry now has four 10.0s on bars -- two in 2016 and two in 2017. It was the seventh 10.0 of her career (4 bars, 2 vault, 1 floor).

McMurtry's 39.80 in all-around is Florida's highest ever in NCAA Super Six action (previous high: 39.75 by Bridget Sloan 2013)
