Queen of the Quickstep: Laurie's First Prom on Week 7 'DWTS' Eras Night
Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy performed the quickstep to "One Fine Day" by The Chiffons on Dancing with the Stars' season 23 Eras Night.

It was an endearing, prom-inspired 1960s dance full of the duo's contagious energy. Since Hernandez is homeschooled and has never been to a prom, this special dance represented her first one.

I think it's cool that my very first prom is going to be with Val, because instead of just sitting on my phone the whole time, I'll actually be dancing.

They received 34 out of 40 points for the dance, receiving rave reviews from judges Julianne Hough and Bruno Tonioli.

For the second dance of the night, the contestants were split into two groups and performed dances with each other. Laurie and Val were part of Team Future along with Terra Jole, Sasha Farber, Jana Kramer, Gleb Savchenko, Marilu Henner, and Derek Hough.

The group danced to "Embrace" by Armin Van Buuren featuring Eric Vloeimans:
