Germany Names Men's and Women's Olympic Teams
After final Olympic qualifiers, the German Gymnastics Federation named its men's and women's artistic gymnastics teams for the Rio Olympics on Sunday.

Headlining the men's team are Andreas Bretschneider​, Fabian Hambüchen ​and Marcel NguyenLukas Dauser and Andreas Toba complete the five-man team. Philipp Herder ​is the alternate, and Andreas Hirsch is head coach.​

With this team we have both final opportunities at the individual devices as well as in the all around and with the team at the Olympics," Hirsch said. "I am convinced that these guys will deliver a strong competition in Rio.
The women's team is led by Elisabeth Seitz, Sophie Scheder and Kim BuiTabea Alt and Pauline Schafer complete the women's team, and Pauline Tratz is the alternate. Ulla Koch will serve as head coach.

We have a very strong and balanced team occupied," Koch said. "Our goal is clear: We want to reach the team final and several individual finals.
The German men and women both look to improve upon their 2012 team performance. The men finished seventh in the 2012 team final while the women did not advance to the team final.
