Thorsdottir and Zonderland Lead Dutch Olympic Teams
Hans Gootjes, the technical director of the Dutch Gymnastics Federation, has nominated the gymnasts for the men's and women's gymnastics teams for the Rio Olympic Games.

The women's team will be led by Eythora Thorsdottir​ ​and the Wevers twins, Sanne and Lieke Wevers​.They are joined by ​Celine van Gerner​ and ​Vera van Pol​.​ Alternates are Tisha Volleman and Reina Beltman.

The men's team will be led by high bar sensation ​Epke Zonderland​, who will be joined by Bart DeurlooYuri van GelderFrank Rijken, and Jeffrey Wammes.​

Gootjes is excited that the Dutch will are sending a full men's and women's team in Rio.​

​This is the result of years of intensive construction of many more stakeholders than just the currently selected athletes and guidance," he said. "Also not selected gymnasts, coaches and everyone else involved have put the same energy into achieving this unique result. For me this is the ultimate One Team One Goal outcome.
National head coach Gerben Wiersma will be the head coach for the women while Bram van Bokhoven, Jeroen Jacobs and Daniel Knibbeler will coach the men. Vincent Wevers and Patrick Kiens will assist Wersma in coaching the women's team.
