Russian Juniors Bring Big Skills & Style To International Gymnix
The Junior Cup at International Gymnix will be held Saturday, March 5 with teams from USA, Russia, Romania, Japan, Great Britain, Belgium, France, and Canada. FloGymnastics will be LIVE streaming all three days of competition as well as podium training from Montreal, Quebec.

Russia’s Junior Cup team is a very talented group of rising stars and the future of the Russian program looks incredibly promising. Their four-person team includes Anastasiia IlliankovaUliana Perebinosova, Valeriia Saifulina, and Varvara Zubova.


Anastasiia Illiankova

Illiankova had a very strong performance at the 2015 European Youth Olympic Festival in Tbilisi, Georgia. She took third in the all-around with a 55.500.

Bars
Illiankova has incredible release moves and great difficulty, including a Hindorff to Pak combination.

Uliana Perebinosova

Perebinosova took first on bars in the junior CMS division at 2015 Russian Nationals and 6th in the all-around with a 54.167. She competed at the 2015 Top Gym meet in Belgium and performed a very nice floor routine for a 13.70.

Floor
On floor, watch for Perebinosova's lovely double L turn as well as a double wolf turn. She shows off very clean tumbling, including a 1.5 twist through to a double twist and a giant 2.5 punch front.

Bars
Perebinosova has great uniqueness and style on bars, as you can see in her opening combination of a Maloney to uprise stalder blind straight into an Ezhova.

Valeriia Saifulina

Saifulina has been a very promising athlete for the Russians, scoring a 55.70 at 2015 Russian Nationals to take 2nd all-around in the junior CMS division. She also earned first on beam, third on floor, and second on vault.


Varvara Zubova

Zubova took third all-around in the junior CMS division at 2015 Russian Nationals with a 55.034. She had an impressive 14.50 on floor and she also excels on beam where she took first in event finals with a 14.667. Some of her notable skills include a gainer back handspring back handspring layout step out, a roundoff layout, and an Onodi. Make sure to watch for Zubova on beam at Gymnix.
