With the Superbowl coming up this weekend, we thought it would be fun to do a little comparison of the skills that gymnasts do on a daily basis versus some of the flips that have become legendary in football. Of course, there's no doubt that both sports are difficult in their own way, but this proves how crazy amazing the things gymnasts do truly are.

Earlier in the season, Panther's quarterback Cam Newton flipped into the end zone for a touchdown. The media went wild for it, calling him Superman and applauding his 'stuck' landing. Check it out...



I know he's a football player wearing a ton of pads and flipping isn't part of his sport... So it's super impressive. I get it. But if THAT is a superhuman front flip, what is THIS?



Gymnasts are amazing. We know.


A few years ago, Braylon Edwards performed a backflip with 'Olympic style excellence' after the Jets beat the Patriots in the playoffs. Watch:



Commendable for sure. But in gymnastics, Olympic style excellence = Simone Biles adding another flip and three more twists....




Then there is Jerome Simpson of the Bengals who does this front flip into the end zone for a very impressive touchdown.



OSU's Sean Melton may not be carrying a football, but incredible feats of front flips to stuck landings are nothing new:



This high school player still has some time to master his side aerial before hitting the pros...
