As the end of the year draws near, it is time to remember the best moments from 2015, enjoy!


3. Georgia Dabritz Scoring Back-to-back 10s at NCAAs


In her stellar senior season, Georgia Dabritz lead Utah to a second place finish at the 2015 NCAA Championships. Dabritz was solid as a rock all year, hitting 52 out of 55 routines and taking 36 event and all around titles. While she was a key for the Utes success on several events, bars was without a doubt her specialty. Dabritz scored three perfect 10.0s throughout the regular season and was a model of consistency and flawless execution. No matter the day, place, or time, each routine was a carbon copy of the others.

When it mattered most, Dabritz was there, ready once again to perform for her team. She rose to the occasion, and scored perfect 10.0s on bars on back-to-back nights at NCAA Championships. With this, she became the first gymnast in NCAA history to score a 10 on bars in both prelims and Super Six. Dabritz went on to take the bar title, scoring a 9.963 in event finals, capping off a near perfect weekend on the apparatus. Her NCAA Championships performances also gave her a total of seven career 10.0s on bars, tied for most by a Utah gymnast in school history.


2. SimoneÂ’s Three-Peat

When Simone Biles won the all around title at the 2015 World Championships, she became the first female in history to take gold in three straight world championships. Svetlana Khorkina was the only other woman in history to win three World all-around titles, however she did not do it in consecutive years.

Biles not only won three straight titles, she won them big. She outscored Kyla Ross in 2013 by .884, Larisa Iordache in 2014 by .446, and Gabby Douglas this year by 1.083. Moreover, Biles outscored herself each year, scoring 60.216 in 2013, 60.231, and 60.399 in 2015. 

Now, Biles has fourteen total World Championship medals. Ten of those are gold, giving her the most gold medals for a single gymnast in World Championship history. She is quickly becoming one of the most decorated gymnasts of all time, and hasnÂ’t even competed in an Olympic Games yet. SimoneÂ’s 2015 was no doubt historic, but it seems there are even greater things to come. 


1. The Four-Way Tie for Gold


The 2015 World Championships in Glasgow was one for the books, however no competition was more exciting than the WomenÂ’s bar final. A stacked field featuring the best of the best set up a battle for the the podium that did not disappoint. 

It began when Fan Yilin of China performed a beautifully intricate routine that earned her a 15.366. Next up came Viktoria Komova who, known for her exquisite lines and effortless look, also received a 15.366 adding some excitement to the competition. However, things started to get crazy when rock-solid Madison Kocian posted the same score. Now there were three competitors sitting at the top of the scoreboard with two gymnasts to perform. Up next, Daria Spiridonova scored, you guessed it, a 15.366 to make it a four-way tie. Disbelief was shown across the faces of gymnasts, coaches, and fans alike, as they realized four gold medals would be presented that evening.

Just two gymnasts finished with identical execution and difficulty--Komova and Kocian. Fan's execution was the lowest of the four, but she made up for it with the highest difficulty. At the end of the day, all four gymnasts stood atop the podium, making for one memorable bar final.
