WHAT?! Japan still gets silver. wow. 1 China 275.161, 2 Japan 273.093, 3 USA 273.083. soooo close!
           
Uchimura finished like a champ, perfect form and a stuck dismount. Weird to see him fall!
           
Looks like Team USA just won the WORLD SILVER medal!! Congrats, guys!
           
Uchimura HB: piked kovacs, rybalko. textbook tak1/2 to yamawaki. missed tucked kovacs!! NO WAY!!
           
Zou Kai got the highest FX score of the day, 15.60 (6.90/8.70). Watch for him in the FX final on Sunday!

Zou FX: laid out dbl dbl! back 1.5+full in roll out. back 2.5+1.5. whip+lay out thomas. tucked dbl dbl dismount! wow!
           
Defending Olympic FX Champion Sou Kai will close out the meet for China, and Defending AA World Champ Uchimura will anchor Japan on HB
           
Zhang Chenglong's FX score is showing on the live results but quite the delay to show down on the floor. Here it is, yes, 15.40. (6.70/8.70)
           
It's official, USA bests Russia by 4 points.

Intense head to head battle between China and Japan for GOLD! 15.40 for Zhang Chenglong on FX. K Tanaka went 15.141 (6.4/8.741) on HB.

Russia's first score, 13.233, means the Americans will take home a medal for the first time at Worlds since grabbing silver in 2003.
           
Tanaka HB: laid out tkatchev. yamawaki. nice steady routine. laid out double double flared out and stuck! Crowd is going nuts!
           
USA has finished with 273.083. China is up on floor, Japan on high bar. Ukraine finished with 264.102
           
Khorokhordin up 1st for Russia on pommel horse. FALL! USA looks good for a medal
           
I payed 0 attention to Korea on pommel horse during that, but Kim anchored with 14.166.
           
Score for Leyva: 15.533 (7.10/84.33). There's Yin! He's leading a USA chant, and there he goes running back up the stairs
           
It is just not as fun to watch Danell compete without Yin down there! Great routine though, way to close it out!

Hambuchen HB: full twisting kovacs. layout tkatchev+rybalko+gienger, so cool! 15.866 (7.40/8.466)
           
Leyva PB: diam with style. this is great so far. stutz right to handstand. double pike small hop
           
Leyva is next on PB. I've spotted Yin, he is pacing...
           
Boy (GER) HB: cassina, kohlman, tak 1/2 form break. tak 1/2+yamawaki. hop full. dbl dbl laid out. hit.
           
Horton PB: piked belle. tippelt. belle. diam. stutz. double pike slight hop. Good routine.
           
Russia was great on floor, but they will finish on pommel horse where scores are always low, and definitely not their best event
           
Orozco PB: front toss. belle. belle half. front 1 1/4. tippelt. healy. back toss. stutz. double pike, stick!!
           
16.200 for reigning HB Champ Chenglong. (7.6/8.600). And reigning Olympic champ Zou Kai scored 15.933 (7.6/8.333).
           
Uchimura PB: belle half, then a huge front 1 1/4. Excellent form throughout. US guys coming up next!
           
Kai HB: rybalko+ layed out jaeger, I think. looked down to type. tak+yamawaki. nope, there's the layed out jaeger. Dbl dbl laid out, stick!
           
Kazuhito Tanaka 15.50 on PB
           
Ablyazin FX: full twisting double layout, flared out the 2nd flip, nice. Pike dbl arabian landed low. back 2.5+front lay full. Triple.
           
Chenglong HB: He's the defending World Champ here. Nice rybalko. Big laid out jaeger. Stuck laid out double double. Zou Kai is next
           
K Takana PB: peach full. belle. piked belles... missed the end, but the crowd was pumped
           
Belyatovskiy (RUS) FX: amazing 1st pass- double twisting double pike but 1st flip laid out. Very cool looking. Triple dismount.
           
14.90 for Golotsutskov, Russia's 1st FX routine
           
Tanaka PB: leading off for Japan... Front toss. healy, diam, stutz, double pike. Good hit routine
           
Teng Haibin (CHN) HB: tak to laid out tkatchev. low yamawaki. jam handstand. Big wind up, stuck double double laid out.

Yamamuro (JPN) VT: powerful tsuk triple! 16.40 (7.0/9.40). Great vault rotation for Japan
           
Khorokhordin (RUS) HB: full twisting kovacs nice. tak full+yamawaki. Full twisting double layout small hop.
           
Okiguchi (JPN) VT: tsuk triple. nicely done. 16.10 (7.0/9.20/-0.1)
           
Uchimura VT: he fell on his tsuk entry vault on day one, so he threw his perfect yurchenko 2.5 today. He is amazing. 16.20 (6.6/9.60!)
           
Hambuchen 15.233 on PB (6.50/8.733), Horton 15.266 VT (7.0/8.266), Jihoon Kim (KOR) 14.133 on HB (6.60/7.533). And Kuksenkov (UKR) 14.633 FX
           
Oleg Stepko of UKR is just 17 years old! He scored 14.733 (6.10/8.633) on FX
           
Hambuchen PB: 2 belles. good healy, stuck double pike. China runs up to the podium to prep the pbars
           
15.266 for Horton on vault. Another fall for Korea on HB. Jihoon Kim missed his full twisting kovacs
           
Stepko FX: big, long flares sequence. Crowd "oooo"'s. Full in dismount.
           
Rough day for the Germans. Nguyen fell on PBars. He played it safe with just a double pike dismount. He's been doing full in tuck
           
Horton VT: went for the Dragulescu, landed on hands and knees. darn.
           
Verniaev (UKR) hit FX with a stuck triple dismount. They look good, didnt even make the final last year
           
Dalton VT: excellent tsuk triple/kas double. Looked clean in the air, took 1 step
           
Legendre scored 16.166 (7.0/9.266/-0.10)
           
Soo Kim (KOR) fall on high bar.
           
Legendre VT: HUGE double front 1/2 out! unfortunately stepped to the side out of the lane, just 1 foot though
           
Horton SR score: 15.066 (6.70/8.366). Off to the next rotation. USA is on Vault, which they won in the qualification round.
           
Horton SR: big strength moves off the top, great so far. Tucked double double small step. Heard a faint "YESSO!" from way up in the stands
           
Hambuchen VT: anchored Germany with a clean yurchenko double twist
           
Chris Brooks is screaming his face off in the stands as Horton waits for the judges.
           
Orozco hit rings. step forward on double pike dismount. Dalton scored 14.333. Horton waiting for the green flag
           
Kuksenkov (UKR) HB: big tkatchev mix grip catch. nice jam handstand. Full twisting double lay, 1 step back
           
Nguyen (GER) VT: tsuk 2.5, almost stuck. 1 controlled step.
           
Clean start from Dalton on SR. almost stuck his double tuck 1.5 twist dismount.
           
Philipp Boy (GER) sat down his handspring double front vault.
           
Time for USA on rings. Lineup: Dalton, Orozco, Horton
           
Yamamuro nailed rings with a stuck full twisting double layout. Japanese fans love it!
           
Uchimura 15.00 on SR (6.50/8.50). Yamamuro will anchor . Garibov (RUS) scored 14.525 on PB (6.20/8.325)
           
Zhang Chenglong VT: tsuk triple/kas double.. I can rarely tell the difference. Very well done. 16.333. And Feng Zhe anchored with a 16.30
           
Uchimura SR: He's so precise. Nice inverted cross and yamawakis. Just a tiny hop on the dismount
           
Kobayashi hit to lead off Japan on rings. Nice tucked double double dismount. He score 14.933. Uchimura is next
           
Cotuna (ROM) HB: tkatchev. wild rybalko. full twisting double layout, really piked it down
           
About those standings after 2, Russia and S Korea have both gone through vault where scores are inflated compared to other events.

Uchimura scored 14.991 (6.30/8.691) on PH. And Yan Mingyong went 14.966 on SR (6.80/8.166).

Golotsutskov VT: another tsuk double pike from the Russians. Huge difficulty, but some variety would be nice.
          
Did I say yurchenko double pike for Belyatovskiy? If so, I meant tsuk! Ablyazin scored 16.266. Golotsutskov is next.
          
Ablyazin (RUS) VT: WHOA!! tsuk double pike and that was the most open tuck I've ever seen on that vault. amazing. landed safely, step back
          
Kobayashi FALL off pommel horse for Japan.
          
Belyatovskiy (RUS) VT: yurchenko double pike from the leadoff guy, no big deal.
          
Yin Alvarez is cracking me up. He can't sit in the stands and watch. He'll run down and sit for a second, then run right back up the stairs
          
Koreans dominated VT. 15.6/15.9/16.833! Whoa!
          
15.058 for Naddour on PH. (6.20/8.858). USA totals 89.889 after 2 events. Japan is up on PH now, China on rings
          
Naddour stuck his dismount and then turned to point up to the US delegation in the stands. Great rotation!
          
Naddour PH: scissor press. amazing full kehr. smooth through his 1 pommel work. Boom!! USA nails pommel horse
          
14.33 (6.40/8.033) for Orozco on PH. He fought through that routine! Taranu (GER) 14.30 on SR
          
Orozco PH: scissor press on each pommel. Not his cleanest routine but still impressive, and he stayed on! PH specialist Naddour will anchor
          
China only totaled 43.999 on pommel horse. I believe USA scored around 45 on PH in qualifications
          
Hambuchen led off GER on SR with a hit routine from the pieces that I saw and a tucked double double dismount
          
Leyva PH: scissor press. aggressive swing. HIT! Chris Brooks almost jumped out the stands haha
          
USA FX scores: Horton 14.966, Legendre 15.566, Dalton 15.500. Total = 46.032. Behind only Ukraine who vaulted, ahead of the rest
          
Dalton FX: huge layout double arabian! whip+tucked thomas side pass. Very clean back 2.5+front tuck full. triple twist dismount. Awesome!
          
15.566 for Legendre on FX! (6.80/8.766). Here comes Jake, all other events are now done
          
Germany struggles on pommels yet again. Only a 13.166 for Philipp Boy and their anchor, Krimmer just fell
          
Legendre FX: 2.5 dbl tuck, almost laid out in 1st flip. wow. Hypolito looked easy. Very open pike dbl arabian. Huge routine!
          
Radivilov (UKR) VT: double front 1/2 out, nicely done. 16.166
          
Jin Sung Choi (KOR) had a nice rings set. Almost stuck full twisting double lay but chest was quite low
          
Stepko (UKR) VT: great handspring double front. Just 1 small, controlled step forward
          
Horton FX: 1.5+tucked thomas. double double tucked hop back. stuck side pass. layout thomas. full in hop forward. Great start!
          
Here come the US men!! Jon will lead off (starting on FX), then Legendre and Dalton.
          
CHINA hits 3 for 3 on Pommels. With the big lead they'll gain on Rings, that should be enough for Victory. The won Rings by 2pts in 2010.
          
Yamamura (JPN) FX: great combo twisting. Double arabian dismount that looked to travel sideways. Regardless, he landed well. Hit routine
          
Format is 3 up 3 count so we can pretty much guarantee Romania will finish last. What a disaster.
