Day 1 competition done. THAT WAS CRAZY.

Danell Leyva is on the sidelines getting prepped for an NBC interview with Andrea Joyce, but instead he's cheering for Ishino on HB- he hit!

Alex Naddour PH: full kehr, crowd goes "oooo". NAILED IT! That was clutch.

John Orozco very smooth through high bar and hardly even cracks a smile after a hit set. Silent Ninja

David Sender just threw a vault that terrifies many. And he is safe! Yurchenko double pike low landing. But he's happy

Brandon Wynn hit high bar with style. Flared out the full twisting double layout dismount... STICK!

Dalton survived pommel horse. Much like Horton, the US would never use him here. He had a great day!

Buscaglia VT: incredible! yurchenko half on, laid out double twist off, excellent landing. 16.20 (6.80/9.40). Leyva 15.850 HB (7.10/8.75)

Steve Legendre absolutely nailed pommel horse. Maybe the best routine I've seen him do. He delivered a huge 6 for 6 tonight.

Yin can not be contained. He picked up Danell for a huge hug

Leyva HB: tak full+yamawaki. liukin. giant layout kovacs. laid out tkatchev. rybalko. jam hop! Yin is IN this. Double double. Hit.

Mikulak VT: tsuk triple, not his best. Looked a bit crooked, but appears to have gotten the twist around. Big step to the side off the mat

Leyva still in the lead heading into final rotation of the day and he will be 1st up on HB. Orozco in 2nd, Mikulak in 3rd.

Orozco incredibly clean on PB. Stuck double pike. Business-like. 1 rotation to go

David Sender rallied back with a huge rings routine and a stuck dismount - tucked double double. Nice to see!

Brooks FX: tough to follow the past 2 routines. Starts with front double pike, nice. Front double full dismount. Nice routine

Wynn nailed his pbar set then tapped his foot on the bar his double pike dismount. ouch. Didn't appear to bother him though

Big floor score for @jake_dalton - 16.10 (6.60/9.50!). Dixon 14.00 on PB

Leyva 15.90 on PB (6.60/9.30)! Mikulak 14.55 on SR (5.60/8.95). Excellent tucked double double SR dismount for Buscaglia

Legendre FX: front double full+double front - yes, really! Hypolito. Giant arabian double pike dismount. He looks on.

Leyva PB: peach diam. peach half smooth. Such a unique routine and done so well. Showing why he's World Champ!

Mikualk SR: maltese. straddle planche. good control. Tucked double double. Another hit. Making #TeamSam proud

Glen Ishino is killing it today! Clean through parallel bars, and stuck his double pike! That's the most emotion we've seen from him

Naddour FX: The team needs his pommels, but he delivered a nice FX set - big full twisting double layout mount. Full out dismount

It's funny that the two guys essentially fighting for the same Olympic spot, Legendre and Dalton, are going back to back in same rotation.

Legendre HB 14.10 (5.40/8.70), Wynn VT 16.00 (6.60/9.40), Maestas PH 14.40 (6.10/7.90). That's it for rotation 4

Dixon VT: fall on yurchenko half on, front double twist off. Came in crooked, looked like he only blocked with 1 hand! Crazy

Buscaglia fell on PH. Mikualk 14.60 on PH (6.0/8.60). Leyva 15.60 on VT (6.60/9.10/-0.1)

back up and threw a big set - piked kovacs, kohlman, 1 arm giant. Easy full twisting double lay. Looks like something is wrong with his grip

Horton HB: Former Olympic silver medalist... no! Fall on Cassina. He was on, just lost his grip

When I asked @Paul_Ruggeri what we should watch for at Trials, he said a SMILE. And he's delivering. Nailed PH and loves it

Orozco VT: darn! Sat it down. Looked sluggish. Hands hit low on the vault, hardly got a block. Got the double twist around, but came in low

Leyva looked great on rings, his weakest event. Stuck his full twisting double layout. A nice victory routine from Yin too, of course

Ishino 14.00 on SR (5.60/8.40). Naddour 14.45 on PB (5.50/8.95). Mikulak 15.50 on FX 6.60/8.90)

Hard to believe Sam Mikulak broke both of this ankles a year ago! He does have a pretty heavy tape job though

Mikulak FX: easy double double! back 1.5+full twisting roll out. Front double full+front tuck full. Whip+tucked thomas. Triple. Hit!

RT @nrarmour Brooks walks off podium and into back concourse, puts his hands on top of his head. He's in battle for 5th spot and this won't help.

No! Brooks fell on PB. came up crooked on a peach skill. Couldn't hang on. Stuck double front. Looks both angry and defeated as he exits

Maestas FX 14.750 (6.50/8.25). Wynn SR 15.50 (6.70/8.80). Dalton PB 15.10 (6.20/8.90)

Dalton PB: clean. belle half. front 1 3/4. Team Jake goes wild! They have some killer light up signs.

Haha Dave Durante just said Wynn looks like an action figure. He is amazing on rings. Big strength, nice double double dismount

Maestas FX: I love watching this kid. So much energy in his routines. Big double double opening pass. Open tucked full in dismount.

Horton earned a 15.850 on VT (6.60/9.25). That's it for rotation 2

Mikulak HB: tak+tkatchev mix grip. tak full to yamawaki. kohlman. rybalko. jam handstand. hop full. Double double laid out, small hop. Solid

Horton hit double front vault. Said holding back on the Dragulescu was "a tough pill to swallow"

Orozco struggled on PH and got hit hard. 14.35 (6.40/7.95). Leyva PH 14.60 (6.0/8.60), Ruggeri 15.60 HB (6.80/8.80).

Leyva PH: Nailed it. Powered through the routine with ease. And I think that was a personal best high jump for Yin! ;)

Ruggeri HB: tak full+laid out tkatchev. laid out tkatchev half. nailed his combos. Laid out double double, small step. He's happy!

Sender HB: kohlman. tkatchev. rybalko. Yikes!! Peeled off on dismount. Still pulled out a double layout to his feet. nice save. scary.

Brooks VT: ooh no too much power - handspring double pike over rotated. big hands down. ugh

Dalton hit vault - tsuk triple! 16.10 (7.0/9.10). Buscaglia HB score: 15.80 (7.0/8.80)

Maestas followed with a high-flying HB routine. Tons of releases - cassina, kolhman, AND stuck dismount!

That was surely the best routine Alex Buscaglia has ever done. Nice time to do it! The local Stanford fans loved it

Buscaglia HB: wieler, tak full+yamawaki. Liukin+gienger! half tak+laid out tkatchev half. big hop full. STUCK laid out dbl dbl!

Legendre VT: Dragulescu - the best one he has done!!! Landed right on the middle line. Gets massive height and distance. WOW

Dixon PH: 1st routine of rotation 2. big, beautiful flares! Hit routine. He's a local guy with a nice cheering section.

Ruggeri PB: stylish routine. Stuck double pike! HUGE smile! That's it for rotation 1

Orozco FX 15.15 (6.10/9.050), Brooks 15.050 SR (6.20/8.850). Sender 13.10 PB

Naddour SR: he's one to watch on this event as he's quite the anomaly being strong on both SR & PH. And a nice hit set!

Sender PB: nooo first fall of the competition. Off on peach+diam. Bummer. Step forward on double pike

Brooks SR: has made big improvements on this event. Starts with a cross. STUCK 1.5 twisting double tuck!

Orozco FX: clean arabian double pike 1st pass. Excellent flair work. Very polished landings. Tiny form break on 2.5 dismount

Maestas PB: agressive belles. slight hesitation pressing to handstand after his tippelt. Big double pike

Wynn FX: hit routine with a nice double front first pass. Jake Dalton hit rings with tucked double double dismount

Buscaglia PB: hesitation out of belle, had to walk forward. Lots of underbar work. Stuck double pike

Legendre hit SR! And threw a surprise, excellent, tucked double double dismount.

Legendre is next on SR. Really needs to redeem himself from an uncharacteristic day 2 of Visa Champs.

Leyva scored 15.00 on FX (6.30/8.80/-0.1). Horton 15.45 on SR (6.70/8.75). Mikulak 15.70!! PB (6.20/9.50!). wow.

Dixon FX: What achilles tear?! Big tumbling. Oob on 1st roll out pass. randi, cool! Clean combo twisting. Double arabian dismount

Mikulak PB: NAILED IT!! Giant front 1 3/4 to swing. smooth tipplet. solid back toss. stutz. Stuck double pike!!
