The Top 4 Signs That A College Coach Is Serious About You

Sometimes recruiting can seem so confusing. It’s never easy to know what the college coaches are thinking about you. So how can you know if a college coach is serious about you?

Below are four very good signs that a coach is interested in you and wants to get to know you better, possibly making you an offer down the road:

The coach is responding to your emails on a consistent basis
The coach is asking you for more information
The coach is talking to your club coach about your gymnastics and academics
The coach is coming to watch your practice

It is important to keep in mind that a college coach is looking at you from many different angles. He or she is trying to find out your level of skill and the strength your gymnastics technique. What is your potential, and are you a leader?  How do you respond to your coach and teammates?

Each coach is usually forming a list of several gymnast to review. There are lots of areas they need to evaluate. Some coaches take their time and others move very fast.

Remember it is important to find the right fit, take your time and get to know each opportunity as it comes your way. You should also be evaluating each coach as best you can too.  Recruiting is a process that no one can take lightly.  It is a decision that will affect you for many years.
