Performer of the Week: Grace Williams

This week’s Gymnastike Performer of the Week is level 10 standout Grace Williams of Geddert's Twistars USA. Grace received the highest all-around score at the 2014 Michigan State Meet with an incredible 38.875 and swept every event title. After the meet, the high school senior told us, "I just wanted to come out and enjoy every second of it. Being my last State Meet, it was pretty surreal."

Grace combines power with poise and performs skills with incredible ease. Plus, she is an amazing competitor who excels at hitting big routines in high pressure situations. Watch her beam routine from the state meet below, which includes a handspring layout-layout series and a double pike dismount.

Grace is coached by Kathryn and John Geddert and lives in Linden, Michigan. She competed as a junior international elite alongside former teammate Jordyn Wieber in 2010. The following year, Grace won the prestigious Nastia Liukin Cup.

Due to injuries, Grace has only competed at the level 10 J.O. National Championships twice so far, but won the elusive all around title in both appearances, 2010 and 2012! Now in her final season of club gymnastics, Grace is back and ready to contend for her third National title this May.

Grace will be heading to the University of Nebraska in the fall along with Twistars teammate Kamerin Moore. We expect the duo to make a huge impact on the Husker Gymnastics program.
