U.S. Women's Team Finals Lineups Announced

The U.S. women will compete tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 27, in the team finals of the 2015 World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. The lineups have been finalized for the competition, and they are as follows:

Vault: Gabby Douglas, Maggie Nichols, Simone Biles
Uneven bars: Nichols, Douglas, Madison Kocian
Balance beam: Nichols, Aly Raisman, Biles
Floor exercise: Nichols, Raisman, Biles

After competing in three events in qualifications, Nichols proved that she can handle the pressure of the Worlds stage, and will be competing in the all-around in team finals. She had the second highest score on each of the three events she competed. She did not compete on bars in qualifications, but has been incredibly consistent in training, even with her new full twisting double layout dismount. Therefore, she has been put into the bars lineup for finals and Biles will only compete three events.

While Douglas did an Amanar in training, she only competed a Yurchenko double in qualifications, but she stuck the landing and will now be competing vault in the team final. Raisman competed her Amanar but had a little too much power and ran out of it, so Douglas' clean and consistent vault has been chosen.

Brenna Dowell was chosen for the Worlds team primarily for her stellar bar routine, and she showed impressive routines throughout training this week. But after taking two falls in qualifications, she has not been chosen for the the bars lineup.

Biles and Douglas both qualified for the all-around final, which is coming up on Thursday, October 29th.
