The 2015 World Championships are in full swing in Glasgow, Scotland and we are on site providing video and written coverage.

Every year some of the best stories unfold at this competition, whether it’s triumph or heartbreak, the meet never disappoints. Let's take a look back at our Gymnastike Gold documentaries with some of USA’s World champions.

Simone Biles

2013: AA Gold, FX Gold, VT Silver, BB Bronze
2014: Team Gold, AA Gold, VT Silver, BB Gold, FX Gold

Current reigning all-around champion Simone Biles is looking to add to her medal count. She’s already got nine World medals, six of which are gold. Jump back two years in time with us and watch Simone before she was a World Champion in our first Beyond the Routine with her.

Gabby Douglas

2011: Team Gold

Reigning Olympic all-around champion Gabby Douglas will also be at Worlds this year, her first time since before the 2012 Olympics. Many people doubted her comeback, but she was always determined to prove she could be at the top again. Our first Beyond the Routine with her featured prior success including her historic Olympic win. Our second Beyond the Routine with Douglas focuses on her comeback and path to the next Olympics.

MyKayla Skinner

2014: Team Gold, Vault Bronze

MyKayla Skinner is known for her difficult skills and fearless attitude. But while she gains praise for her big tricks, she also receives criticism for her unpolished form. With hard work and dedication, Skinner has been improving both areas and it showed at last year’s Worlds where she helped earn the team gold, placed third on vault, and fourth on floor. Watch the documentary with her here.

Madison Kocian

2014: Team Gold

Madison Kocian’s story is one of overcoming obstacles. She’s been plagued with injuries but has always been able to move past them. Last year, her perseverance paid off big time when she helped team USA win gold at Worlds. This year’s she looking for a repeat plus more. Watch the WOGA Beyond the Routine series here.

Alyssa Baumann

2014: Team Gold

Alyssa Baumann was never in the spotlight as much as others, including teammate Kocian. But what sets Baumann apart is her work ethic. Her hard work has gotten her this far and helped her make last year’s Worlds team. This year she is an alternate, but don’t count her out as she is still one of USA’s top gymnasts. Watch the Beyond the Routine series here.

Kyla Ross

2013: AA Silver, UB Silver, BB Silver
2014: Team Gold, AA Bronze

The baby of the Fierce Five, Kyla Ross broke out into the senior stage just in time for the 2012 Olympics where she helped USA win gold. After London, she continued to push on and competed at both the 2013 and 2014 World Championships, earning an all-around medal at both. She won’t be at Worlds this year (article) but her story is impressive nevertheless. Watch the Beyond the Routine series here.

Bridget Sloan

2009: AA Gold
2010: Team Silver

Current Florida Gator and 2008 Olympian Bridget Sloan’s journey is full of ups and downs. After being the alternate to the Worlds team in 2007 and suffering an injury in early 2008, she came back to make the Beijing Olympic team. In 2009 she went on to become the fifth american woman to win a World all-around title. At 2010 Worlds, she helped USA win silver and also placed fourth on bars. She was in the running for the 2012 Olympic team but ended up injuring her elbow at the Olympic Trials, ending her elite career. Relive her exciting journey in elite as well as NCAA here.

Jordyn Wieber

2011: Team Gold, AA Gold, BB Bronze

Our most watched Beyond the Routine ever features Olympic and World Champion Jordyn Wieber. This series highlights the controversial and devastating Olympic qualifications where Wieber, the reigning World champion, missed out on all-around finals due to the two-per-country rule. Hear first hand what her Olympic experience was like in this captivating series.

Chellsie Memmel
