With preseason kicking off, it’s time to look forward to the 2016 season! This week we will take a look at the incoming freshmen class of the Georgia Bulldogs. The Bulldogs missed out on the Super Six at last year’s NCAA Championships. The team is looking to prove they belong back in the Super Six this season. Georgia welcomes three talented freshmen in Caroline Bradford, Gracie Cherrey and Sydney Snead.

Week one down and nicknames already set...Mom, Camel, Nerd. Freshmen roomies ready for a great year! 🐶🐾❤ï¸ÂðŸ˜‚

Gracie Cherrey
Gracie Cherrey is a very talented freshman from Minnesota who trained at Twin City Twisters. Cherrey is a great performer who shines on bars and floor. The Gym Dogs will look to Cherrey to make an immediate impact in the lineup this season. In 2015 Cherrey placed 1st all-around at Region 4 Regionals qualifying her to JO Nationals for the fourth straight year. On bars Cherrey shines with beautiful lines and great difficulty including two release moves and a double layout dismount. We look forward to seeing her on bars this season. Watch her on bars here

"Gracie is a true performer," Durante said. "She loves to compete; the larger the crowd the more excited Gracie is to perform. Her strengths are bars and floor, but she is very solid and consistent on vault and beam as well. Gracie has a vivacious, fun loving personality; both her smile and her gymnastics will light up the Coliseum."

Sydney Snead
Sydney Snead is a talented freshman from Raleigh, NC. Snead trained at Sonshine Gymnastics under Heidi and Milan Stanovich. Snead was a member of the JO National Team in 2012 and 2014. In 2014 Snead placed both second in the all-around and vault. In 2013, she scored a perfect 10 on vault for a 1 1/2 Yurchenko! The Gym Dogs will benefit from another powerful vault in the lineup. Look for Snead to make a splash early especially on vault and floor. Watch her beautiful and powerful vault here.

"Sydney is a fierce competitor," Durante said. "She is extremely powerful on vault and floor and has a wide variety of skills in her repertoire. I believe fans will see an athlete with great focus and precision each time she competes. She is incredibly consistent on all four events."

Caroline Bradford
Caroline Bradford is a freshman from Prairieville, Louisiana. Bradford trained at Cypress Pointe Gymnastics, where she was coached by Brian Neal and Donna Ewing. Bradford joined the team late, signing this past June. Bradford is a two-time national qualifier (2011, 2012). In 2012 Bradford placed 12th all-around at JO Nationals. Bradford will be a great addition to the Gym Dogs where she will start a great college career. Watch Bradford on beam here.

"Caroline is a young woman of strong character who will bring great passion and energy," said head coach Danna Durante. "We are excited for her to join the Gymdog family."
