Beyond The Routine: Canada Rising
Our next Beyond the Routine will premiere next Wednesday, August 26th, and will feature the top gymnasts of the Canadian National Team: Ellie Black, Victoria Woo, Isabela Onyshko, Maegan Chant, Madison Copiak, Helody Cyrenne and Brittany Rogers.

Just a few miles across the norther border of the U.S., the Canadian National Team training camp became a fertile ground for a triumphant Pan American Games. Bringing together the top seven Canadian elites to prepare, it was a place where new bonds were formed and true team unity was developed. The camp allowed Canada to capture the silver medal after an impressive team performance, and qualify several gymnasts to the event finals. The star that led the way, Ellie Black, went on to become Canada’s most dominant Pan Am Games competitor—just one of only two five-medal winners in the Games. Her incredible performance marked the first time a non-American had won the gold since 1983.

In our BTR, revealed are the untold stories of the Canadian Olympic hopefuls—the women who have joined together in a battle for a ticket to Rio. Pushing the limits both physically and mentally, the training camp served as an important piece of the puzzle in earning Team Canada a new level of respect and authority in the world of elite gymnastics. A historic fifth place finish at the 2012 Olympics started a fire that continues to burn in the hearts of every Rio-dreamer.

The doors have been opened and the chance to see inside Canada’s road to Rio is here.
