While in Chicago to promote the 2015 US Secret Classic, Shawn Johnson gets the surprise of a lifetime. 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist, Shawn Johnson got engaged to longtime boyfriend, Andrew East. Johnson was at the Cubs game to throw out the first pitch when East popped the question! Johnson and East have been together for two years now. 

 

 

Shawn Johnson is one of the most popular US gymnasts of all time. Johnson was a member of the 2008 silver medal Olympic Team where she trained at Chow's Gymnastics under coaches Liang Chow and Liwen Zhuang. She was the 2007 All Around and Floor Exercise World Champion and member of the gold medal winning 2007 US World Championship team. In the 2008 Olympics, Shawn took home 4 medals: gold on Balance Beam, silver in the All Around, silver on Floor Exercise, and silver for the team.

 

Johnson officially retired from the sport in 2012, after making a run towards another Olympic Team. Johnson went on to a celebrity lifestyle following her Olympic success. Johnson won Dancing with the Stars in 2009, and finished 2nd on the all-star season in 2012. Johnson also was a part of the hit NBC show, The Apprentice. Johnson has stayed involved with the sport as part of the Big Ten Network as a broadcaster for the sport.  

 

East is from Indianapolis, Indiana where he attended Vanderbilt. East was a member of the Vanderbilt football team where he was a very strong player as a long snapper. East was a two year co-caption for the Commodores. East was drafted this year to the Kansas City Chiefs.
