Following on from our previous post, check out our top routines to watch from J.O. Nationals from the senior division. As a reminder, you can check out all of the routines on USA Gymnastics' YouTube channel

Kennedi Edney (Precision) - Uneven Bars

Precision’s 16-year old Kennedi Edney is a talented all-around competitor, so it was hard to pick just one of her routines to feature, but her uneven bars routine is particularly impressive. For the J.O. level, Edney performs several tough skills, including a Maloney, Hindorff release, and a huge double layout dismount. Edney has already verbally committed to compete for LSU. She scored a 9.725 on her bar routine at this competition, the highest score on bars in the senior division. Check out her routine below.

Kynsee Roby (Triad) - Balance Beam

Triad’s 16-year old Kynsee Roby has great form on all of her events, but this shows through particularly on beam. All of her skills are performed with precision and with little hesitation. Highlights of the routine include a free cartwheel connected into a split jump into a wolf jump, a needle scale showing off her flexibility, and a beautiful twisting dismount. Roby has verbally committed to compete for Nebraska. She scored a 9.725 on beam in this competition, the highest in the senior division.

Wynter Childers (Spearfish) - Floor Exercise

Spearfish’s 16-year old Wynter Childers has some of the most unique choreography in her floor routine. Her routine is so fast paced, you wonder how she has enough energy to finish the entire thing, though her tumbling will leave you in little doubt that she has a lot of power. Childers has verbally committed to Alabama, and given the amount of personality she shows in her routine, we think she’ll do very well in the collegiate world. Childers scored a 9.675 on this routine, placing second in the Senior B competition.

Cassidy Keelen (Texas Dreams) - Floor Exercise

It’s easy to see that Cassidy Keelen’s floor routine was crafted at Texas Dreams, renowned for their unique choreography. Every movement of Keelen’s floor routine seems to match the beats of the music perfectly, with lots of thought given to every hand placement and jump. Aside from her dance, Keelen’s tumbling is also worth paying attention to, and includes a full twisting double and a double pike. Keelen has verbally committed to Cal for college. She scored a 9.65 on her floor routine - check it out below.

Jade DeGouveia (American Twisters) - Uneven Bars

American Twisters’ Jade DeGouveia has an impressive bar routine, starting straight from her mount where she goes right into a piked Jaeger. She also competes a pak salto and a full twisting double back dismount. What sets DeGouveia apart is her long lines and beautiful form, with toes pointed and legs together at all times. She scored a 9.525 on this bar routine.

Alicia Boren (North Stars) - Balance Beam

North Stars’ Alicia Boren is one of those gymnasts who seems to attack the beam when she performs, showing lots of confidence in all of her movements. She also has a lot of unique moves on this apparatus, and has perhaps earned the title of Gainer queen, competing both a forward and backward gainer salto in her routine. She also gets a lot of height in her jumps, and she performs a beautiful full turn with leg raised. Boren scored a 9.675 on this routine. It’s also worth noting her vault, a 1 ½ twisting Yurchenko which she scored a 9.9 on. Boren has verbally committed to Florida for her collegiate career. Check out her beam routine below.
