Bailie Key takes silver in senior debut
Key shines in her first competition as senior international elite along with making a return following an injury.  Key was calm and consistent throughout the competition for Team USA.  Key scored a 15.30 on vault, followed by a 14.90 on bars.  On beam Bailie hit her routine, with great form and lines throughout, but did show some nerves throughout.  She did take a break on her series, BHS-BHS-layout, but saved it to stay on.  She rebounded with the rest of the routine, finishing with a double pike, taking a small step.  Key scored a 14.40 on beam.  Key finished up on floor with a beautiful routine scoring her best score of the day with a 15.0.  Key went 4-4 in her debut scoring a 59.50 all-around and finishing in second place, for a silver medal.

Gabby Douglas is back!
Douglas started strong on vault with a great yurchenko double full, scoring a 15.30.  Douglas looked strong and confident on bars with great connections and release moves.  She did take a large step forward on her double layout dismount, but still posted a strong 14.60.  Douglas moved to beam where she back!  Douglas ‘wowed’ everyone with her rock solid standing full.  Her beautiful lines and leaps were just as impressive as 2012.  She finished with a solid double pike, scoring a 14.90.  Douglas looked powerful and elegant in her new floor routine scoring a 14.90.  Douglas’ tumbling looked powerful with great control, highlighted by a full twisting double back.  Douglas finished her first meet since the Olympic Games going 4-4 with an all-around score of 58.90.  Douglas finished in fourth place behind her teammates. Welcome back Gabby Douglas!

Aly Raisman takes the bronze to start her comeback
In her first competition since the 2012 Olympic Games, Raisman proved she is serious about her comeback.  Raisman started on a great event for her scoring a 15.25 on vault.  Raisman continued strong moving to bars where she has shown improvement.  Raisman went up second for Team USA scoring a 14.00.  In one of the most anticipated routines, Raisman hit a great beam routine.  She hit a great series with a new jump combo.  She missed a few new connections that would have increased her start value.  She finished with a high and impressive Arabian double front dismount, taking a hop forward.  Raisman scored a 14.65.  Raisman showed the entire gymnastics community that she is back with her floor routine!   Raisman’s incredible first pass is back in the routine and she nailed it.  Her first pass of RO 1 ½ step out- Arabian double front- front layout was impressive.  She also showed a powerful stuck double layout in her routine.  Raisman earned an incredible 15.20 on floor, finishing with a 59.10 all-around score, good enough for the bronze medal.  Welcome back Aly!
