Week 3: Big Ten Conference
This week in the Big Ten we will see several teams start conference competition. The Big Ten won five meets last weekend at Michigan posted the conference high with a 196.6. Rutgers and Maryland had their first competitions as part of this conference. Nicole Artz of Michigan and Lindsay Mable of Minnesota scored the individual all-around highs with 39.45s.

Number 8 ranked Michigan came up with a big road win against number 7 ranked Georgia, and Michigan posted a conference high of 196.60. This was Michigan's highest season-opening score in program history.

Penn State won their tri-meet with a 194.675 where Rutgers had a rough opening meet and scored a disappointing 191.825. Iowa held their own in a tough atmosphere at LSU and posted a 193.3. Coach Jenny Hansen recorded her first career win as Minnesota defeated Iowa State. Illinois started off their season with a win at Central Michigan. 

 
Conference Awards 
Lindsay Mable (Minnesota) and Nicole Artz (Michigan) were named Co-Gymnasts of the Week in the Big Ten. Talia Chiarelli (Michigan) was named Event Specialist of the Week. Brianna Brown (Michigan) and Briannah Tsan (PSU) were named Co-Freshmen of the Week. 
 
 
Who to watch this week:
Minnesota will have two meets this weekend, including welcoming the defending National Champions, Oklahoma on Saturday. Minnesota will be put the test with these two meets within three days this early in the season. 
 
Michigan will be on the road again in a tri-meet with Big Ten foe, Ohio State along with West Virginia.  Michigan will be looking for another win on the road to continue the momentum this season. 

Penn State and Nebraska will face off in a top 15 match up.  Look for both teams to be ready for this early season Big Ten dual meet. Nebraska will be looking for Jessie DeZiel to make her season debut this weekend.
