Germany Wins Stuttgart World Cup Team Challenge
For the women’s final of the 2014 EnBW DTB Stuttgart World Cup Team Challenge, strong performances on all four events propelled Team Germany to gold, defeating the team from Russia by nearly two points (112.698-110.831). Aided heavily by 2014 German World Team Members Pauline Schafer and Sophie Scheder, the duo dominated beam and bars, with a 14.600 and 15.133 respectively.

Although only three gymnasts compete on each event, and the top two scores count for the World Cup Team Challenge, it is important to note that Team Russia had only three competitors total: Polina Fedorova, Ekaterina Kramarenko, Kseniia Afanaseva. Afanasyeva impressed judges with her double-twisting Yurchenko on vault, scoring a meet-high of 15.000, as well as taking the top mark on floor with a 14.033.

Team Switzerland easily rounded out the medal contention by a nearly 12-point spread over the German Swabian Federation.
