Junior Elites Gaskins and Johnson-Scharpf Commit to Florida
In the most recent stream of college commits, Junior U.S. National Team member Emily Gaskins and junior international elite Sydney Johnson-Scharpf have committed to the University of Florida. 

Gaskins announced her commitment on instagram after visiting the University of Florida. Gaskins is originally from Florida but currently lives in Cincinnati where she trains under Mary Lee Tracy at CGA.

Johnson- Scharpf also commited on Instagram after visiting the school. She is the daughter of Olympian Brandy Johnson and trains at Brandy Johnson's Global Gymnastics in Clermont, Florida.

Both gymnasts are from Florida and have ties to the University of Florida. Johnson-Scharpf's mom Brandy Johnson trained with Florida head coach Rhonda Faehn under Bela Karolyi. Gaskins' older sister is currently a cheerleader at UF.

Florida has numerous elites and national team members who have committed for the next few years. The 2016-2017 incoming freshmen class includes Alyssa Baumann, Amelia Hundley, Ashton Locklear, and Rachel Gowey. Other high profile commits include Peyton Ernst and Bailie Key.
