With the 2014 World Championships quickly approaching, let's take a look back at the top moments from last year's competition. The 2013 World Championships were held in Antwerp, Belgium and were only individual medals were given.
 
1. McKayla Maroney Earns the Worlds Vault Title

After a "not impressed" vault performance during vault finals at the 2012 Olympics, McKayla Maroney had a chance to redeem herself on the world stage. Maroney did not disappoint this time and she performed two beautiful vaults to bring home the gold medal. This was Maroney's first international competition since the Olympics. Maroney had strong training leading up to Championships which allowed her to compete all-around. Watch Maroney's gold medal performance here. 
 
2. Simone Biles Wins The All-Around Title

Simone Biles had an incredible performance last year with a 60.216 to win the 2013 World All-Around Title. Olympic Champion Kyla Ross won the silver medal with a score of 59.332. This is the first World Championships for both Biles and Ross. Aliya Mustafina of Russia won the bronze with a score of 58.856. This was a great showing for Mustafina after her poor performance during the qualifications where she fell twice.  See Biles' thoughts on winning big.
 
3. Team USA Makes History 

Team USA dominated the  2013 World Championships winning twelve medals, the most in history for the U.S. Highlights included Simone Biles and Kyla Ross finishing 1-2 in the all-around. 2012 Olympic Champion McKayla Maroney successfully defended her world title on vault edging out teammate Simone Biles for the gold medal.  The U.S. Men collected plenty of hardware as well with Brandon Wynn, Jake Dalton, Steve Legendre and John Orozco earning medals.  
 
4. Uchimura's Streak Continues!

Last year in Antwerp, King Kohei Uchimura won his fourth straight world all-around title. Uchimura was flawless in the finals winning gold by almost two points. Japan went 1-2 in the all-around with Uchimura's teammate Ryohei Kato taking silver with a score of 90.032. Watch his gold medal winning Parallel Bars routine.
