Kupets Joins Vegas Water Show
Courtney Kupets, 2004 Olympic bronze and silver medalist, may have hung up her team USA and UGA leotards years ago, but she is not done performing! She recently joined the case and began rehearsals for Le Reve, a water show at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas.
Le Reve, which means "the dream" in French, tells the story of a dreamer while featuring acrobatics, synchronized swimming, and dancing to entertain viewers in the intimate theater. According to teamusa.org, Kupets described her role in the show as “swinging off a trapeze and doing bar dismounts into water.” This should be no problem for the 2002 uneven bars World champion and 2004 Olympic bronze medalist! She will be joining her older sister and former UGA teammate Ashley Kupets, as well as her new husband Chris Carter (a former member of the British national team in acrobatic gymnastics), both of whom are already members of the show.
“People who perform, they just love what they do,” said Kupets, the 2002 uneven bars world champion. “I hear it all the time; they just are so excited about what they do and they love having that job. And you know what, I want to experience that too! It’s just another world of gymnastics to me.”
