Below are some gymnasts who will be competing at the Secret U.S. Classic, but who may not be qualified for P&G Championships yet. The pressure will be on for them to hit at Classics so they can continue on to Championships.

There are multiple ways to qualify for championships, one of which is by achieving a qualifying score at National Team Training Camps. However, USAG does not release the official results from these camps so we aren’t able to be 100% certain of who has qualified and who hasn’t. Either way, these athletes will feel the pressure of qualifying for Championships or just proving that they deserve to be at Championships.

Felicia Hano - Gym-Max
While Felicia already qualified for Championships from the American Classic, she only qualified as a specialist for vault, beam, and floor. She scored an 11.4 on bars with a 4.2 difficulty and 7.2 execution score. She was only eight tenths away from the 54 qualifying score so if she hits all four events at the Classic she should have no problem qualifying. Felicia qualified to last year's Championships but did not compete both days due to an injury. Felicia recently changed gyms and now trains with Kyla Ross at Gym-Max. Read a recent exclusive interview with Felicia here. She talks about her new Divergent themed floor routine choreographed by Dominic Zito and we can’t wait to see her debut it this weekend!

McKenna Appleton - Hills
McKenna missed out on qualifying from the American Classic by only 0.15. While she had solid scores across the board, her 4.1 difficulty score on bars hurt her, as did her 7.65 execution score on beam. McKenna only competed level 9 this season but she had a great year winning all-around at both regionals and Eastern nationals. She also won or tied for first on every event at regionals and Easterns, except beam at Easterns where she tied for second. Watch Mckenna’s winning floor routine from Eastern Nationals on YouTube here.

Gabby Perea - Legacy Elite
Gabby was another gymnast who narrowly missed qualifying from the American Classic where she scored a 51.8. At the American Classic she won beam with a 15.1 (5.5/8.2) and her beam routine is something you definitely don’t want to miss this weekend. Watch her beam routine from practice here. Her bars were what really hurt her at the American Classic and she only scored a 9.6 (5.4/4.2). If she hits her bar routine, or even just scores a little bit higher, she should easily qualify for Championships.

Melissa Reinstadtler
- Rebound
Melissa is a first year senior and she competed at P&G Championships last year in the junior division. She had a solid showing at the American Classic this year but only totaled a 52.65. That score would have been enough to qualify her as a junior but she needed a 54 in the senior division. She had a three tenth neutral deduction on floor and a 6.95 execution score on bars. Bars was also her weakest even last year with a low start value but she has increased her difficulty to a 5.3 at this year's American Classic. Melissa has a shot at making Championships but she will need clean, strong routines on all events to qualify.

Abigail is on of CGA’s up and coming elites- watch her meet the elite video here. Abigail was two and a half tenths away from qualifying to Championships at the American Classic. She had solid scores on every event but her lowest difficulty score was on beam with a 4.9. She will be looking to hit at Classics to qualify for her first time to Championships.

Margzetta Frazier - Parkettes
Margzetta is yet another gymnast who was on the brink of qualifying from the American Classic. She scored a 51.7, only three tenths from qualifying, and also got a three tenth neutral deduction on vault. That means without that deduction she would have just made the score to qualify for Championships. Watch Margzetta’s bar routine from the 2014 Cal Classic elite qualifier here. Watch her floor routine from the same meet here. Margzetta will be competing at Classics with four of her teammates from Parkettes.
