For the first time, Gymnastike's Beyond the Routine series featured a retired athlete, Team USA's Chellsie Memmel. We spent a few days in small town Wisconsin to really capture the daily life and compelling story of the World Champion and Olympic medalist. The result was a truly moving, honest account of one of the most tumultuous yet decorated careers in USA Gymnastics history.

In a career spanning a decade, Chellsie Memmel earned respect from fans and competitors alike for her grit, determination, and class. Only Chellsie Memmel could tear her shoulder apart in the middle of rotation two of a team final and finish the meet with clutch, consistent routines. In this particular competition, Team USA went on to win a silver medal thanks to Memmel's sacrifice. Memmel went on to spend over a year dilligently rebuilding and rehabbing her shoulder in order to attain her Olympic dream. Memmel and her family open up on this story and much more in BTR, including the heartbreaking 2012 rejection by Martha Karolyi and the USA selection committee that ultimately ended her career. 

The complete one hour documentary is now available to all Gymnastike Gold subscribers and we've been overwhelmed by the positive comments. It was an absolute pleasure working with Chellsie to create this series and it was a true honor to tell her story.
