USA Women's National Team Camp Underway


The final USA women's national team training camp for 2013 is underway in Huntsville, Texas, at the USA Gymnastics National Team Training Center, the  Karolyi Ranch.

The camp serves as the final verification for upcoming competitions and will run through Sunday, Nov. 24.

The following athletes were chosed to represent Team USA in upcoming international competitions and will have to show competitive readiness:



Elizabeth Price of Coopersburg, Pa./Parkettes, was selected for the World Cup events in Stuttgart, Germany, Nov. 30-Dec. 1, and Glasgow, Great Britain, Dec. 7.

Seniors Peyton Ernst of Coppell, Texas/Texas Dreams, and Maggie Nichols of Little Canada, Minn./Twin City Twisters, along with juniors Laurie Hernandez of Old Bridge, N.J./MG Elite, Veronica Hults of Coppell, Texas/Texas Dreams, Bailie Key of Montgomery, Texas/Texas Dreams, were selected for the Mexico Open in Acapulco, Mexico, Nov. 26-30.

The remainder of the national team will be working on new skill acquisition, technical corrections on existing skills, artistry improvements and routine construction for the 2014 elite season.

2013 World Championships team members Simone Biles and Kyla Ross have made their return to camp. However, 2013 World Vault Champion McKayla Maroney is absent.
