Full line up for 2013 Glasgow World Cup Revealed


The world’s best will face off at the 2013 Glasgow World Cup. British Gymnastics reveals the full line-ups of men's and women's competitors for the event on December 7th at Emirates Arena.

Team USA's Elizabeth Price will return to defend her 2012 World Cup title alongside Olympian and 2013 World Parallel Bars bronze medalist John Orozco. This will be the first all around competition for Price in 2013 after hip injuries that sidelined her for most of the season. She is one of the World's best on uneven bars and floor and has a very strong Amanar vault. 

Other favorites on the women's side include Romanian star and reigning World floor bronze medalist Larisa Iordache and two-time Olympian and former World all around Champion Vanessa Ferrari from Italy 

The home team will be represented by three athletes. On the men's side, we'll see Scotsman Daniel Purvis and his Olympic team bronze medal winning compatriot Sam Oldham. On the women’s side, World uneven bars and all around finalist and LSU commit Ruby Harrold will contend for a place on the podium.

Harrold will be making her all-around World Cup debut and is excited to face the world’s best, “I’m really excited to have been invited to compete at the Glasgow World Cup and can’t wait to be performing in front of a passionate home crowd. The all-around World Cup is one of the biggest events of the year with an amazing field of gymnasts. I’m hoping to put in a good display to end what has been a really positive 2013 for me.”

The men’s field will also include the 2013 European all-around bronze medal winner Oleg Verniaiev of Ukraine and Belarus’s Andre Likhovitskiy, who placed 4th on high bar, just behind Sam Oldham at the 2013 European Championships.

The event features an all-around final that offers spectators non-stop action throughout a single mixed session between 1.00pm and 4.30pm.

Larisa Iordahce (ROU) Team bronze at the 2012 Olympic Games, 2013 European Beam Champion & 2013 World Floor bronze medalist

Men
Oleg Verniaiev (UKR) – Bronze medallist, 2013 European Championships (all-around)
Andre Likhovitskiy (BLR) - 4th at the 2013 European Championships (high bar)
Fabian Gonzalez (ESP) - 9th at the London 2012 Olympic Games (all-around)
Daniel Purvis (GBR) - Team bronze at the London 2012 Olympic Games and 2011 Glasgow World Cup Champion
John Orozco (USA) – Bronze medallist at the 2013 World Championships (parallel bars)
