After five long months of waiting, the 2013 National Champions finally received their new bling! The University of Florida Gators were given both their SEC Championship and National Championship rings at a banquet dinner in the prestigious Gator Room at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Friday, September 20th.

The Gators snagged their second consecutive SEC title in Little Rock Arkansas after scoring a high 198.0. UF had the top team scores on balance beam and floor.

After bouncing back from counting a fall on their first event (balance beam) during NCAA Nationals, the Gators roared back to life to score a new record of 49.725 on the floor exercise. The momentum carried through the remaining events and eventually lead to a two-tenth lead and a National Championship win of 197.575.

Needless to say, the National Championship ring is absolutely massive, taking up almost two fingers and flashing a huge Gator-blue “F” surrounded by several carats of shiny gems. The team was ecstatic to finally be able to show off what they worked so hard to earn. Now that the Gators have tasted how sweet victory is, you can bet they will be going for a repeat in the 2014 season.

The whole team was also honored on the field during the second quarter of the UF v. University of Tennessee football game on Saturday, September 21. Bridget Sloan was given her Honda award during these celebrations.

The amazing Erin Long took these lovely photos at the Gators celebration dinner:
