Sacramone and Tweddle on the ballot to replace Liukin


The FIG announced Alicia Sacramone (USA), Beth Tweddle (GBR) and Angelina Kysla (UKR) as the three candidates in the running to replace Nastia Liukin as the athletes' representative on the FIG Athletes' Commission. The position votes for the athletes on WAG technical committee matters.

At the 44th World Championship in Artistic Gymnastics from September 30 - October 6 in Antwerp (BEL), athletes will be called upon to elect representatives to the FIG Athletes' Commission. 
 
Within deadline, the FIG registered female candidates Elisabeth Tweddle MBE (GBR - 28 years), Alicia Sacramone (USA - 26 years) and Angelina Kysla (UKR - 22 years): all new candidates. Incoming reps will replace Nastia Liukin (USA), who is not running. In Men's, we have new candidate Igor Radivilov (UKR - 21 years) and incumbent Jani Tanskanen (FIN - 38 years), current Commission President.
 
The Athletes' Commission of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) counts 6 gymnasts, all of whom are elected by peers in their respective disciplines and who participate actively and with voting rights in Technical Committee activities.
 
For other Federation disciplines, Lioubov Charkashyna (BLR - 26 years) was elected at the Rhythmic worlds in Kiev (UKR), alongside Aldrin Rodriguez Garcia (MEX - 29 years) for Aerobic and Ayla Ahmadova (AZE - 28 years) for Acrobatic. Finally, Trampoline will elect its own representative to the Commission in Sofia (BUL) this November.
