After a thrilling three hours, the blood bath that was session 2 has come to an end! As expected everyone was on the edge of their chairs until the last rotation.

Going into the sixth rotation Oklahoma’s score of 197.200 was established, and UCLA, Alabama, and Utah were fighting for the remaining two spots in the Super Six. Actually, entering the final rotation UCLA was ahead of Alabama by 0.025.

Alabama:

Alabama ended the meet on vault with near perfect performances from Kim Jacob and Diandra Millner for an event total of 49.450. Only dropping a 9.80 this gave them the edge to grab the number one spot in the session.

UCLA:

UCLA had a fantastic sticking spree on vault in the fifth rotation and carried their momentum over to bars. Sohina DeJesus was their top scorer with a 9.90 helping the Bruins receive a 49.175 to catch the Sooners.

Utah:

Utah was in the mix up until the always perilous balance beam. Their first performer Becky Tutka had several serious bobbles resulting in a low 9.425. Tory Wilson and Kassandra Lopez ended up falling during their routines, forcing Utah to count a low score and a fall. This ended their chances at making the Super Six.

No one could have guessed that UCLA would tie #2 Oklahoma for the second spot in Finals. Oklahoma opened the doors for UCLA to catch up when not a single Sooner stuck a beam dismount.

Get some sleep everyone, because it’s going to be a CRAZY unpredictable day tomorrow! The Super Six competition will begin at 4pm PST.
