For the second straight year, the Woodlands will  play host to the Texas State Championships. The meet marks the beginning of the post season for Texas gymnasts and is the first step on the road to JO Nationals. Texas State is the qualifying meet for Region 3 Championships and the top 7 gymnasts from Regionals will move onto the JO nationals. 



A Few Gymnasts To Keep Your Eye On


Rachel Daum
is the defending all-around champion for Level 10. Daum placed third in the all-around at the 2012 JO National Championships and was the 2011 JO National Champion on vault and floor. Daum qualified to the 2013 Nastia Cup where she finished sixteenth in the all-around. Daum trains at Stars Gymnastics with Dan Baker, Ashley Baker and Debbie Kaitchuck . The high school senior has committed to compete for Stanford University.


Mackenze Brannan
is sixteen years old and trains with Barry Hyder at Capital Gymnastics in Austin, Texas.  During the 2013 Alamo Classic, the high school junior, scored a perfect 10 on both the vault and uneven bars. Brannan is a former international elite and has verbally committed to the University of Alabama. 

 


Mckenzie Wofford
trains at Capital Gymnastics in Austin,TX with Barry Hyder. Wofford is a former International elite and U.S. National team member. While competing on the elite level, Wofford placed an impressive fourth in the all-around at the 2011 Covergirl Classic. In 2013, Wofford performed a flawless routine on uneven bars scoring a perfect ten at the Alamo Classic. Wofford has verbally committed to the University of Oklahoma.



Samantha Partyka
trains under Kellie Mizoguchi at Champions Gymnastics. Partyka is the 2012 JO National Vault Champion and finished second in the all-around. The sixteen-year-old had a very impressive showing at the 2013 Nastia Cup where she placed third in the all-around. Partyka will compete  for the University of Utah.


Fourteen-year-old Reagan Campbell trains with Kim Zmeskal-Burdette and Chris Burdette at Texas Dreams.  Campbell won the junior level 10 all around title at the 2013 Texas Prime Meet by an entire point with a 38.125. Cambell's performance at the Texas Prime meet qualified her to the 2013 Nastia Cup where she placed fifth in the all-around. Campbell is known for her powerful gymnastics particularly on vault and floor. 


Lizzy LeDuc
impressed the gymnastics community as a young gymnast with her charming floor routines. After a few years in the elite program, LeDuc moved to Metroplex Gymnastics and made the decision to focus on earning a college scholarship. This is Leduc's first level 10 season since 2009 when she won the J.O. National All around and Beam title.
