The Crimson Tide is third on the vault, fourth on the floor exercise, and sixth on the uneven bars and balance beam

 

The Alabama gymnastics retained its No. 4 national ranking this after posting its second-highest score and highest road score of the season at Arkansas last Friday.

 Starting this week rankings are decided by Regional Qualifying Score (RQS), a formula which takes a team’s top three road scores, its next three highest scores home or away, drops the high score and averages the remaining five.

 By RQS, Oklahoma moved up to the No. 1 spot, while previously top-ranked Florida dropped to second. Michigan remained in third and LSU overtook the UCLA Bruins to claim the fifth spot. The Tide will take on the No. 6 Bruins this Friday at home before closing out its regular season against the No. 1 Sooners March 15. In between, Alabama travels to No. 5 LSU.

 Junior Kim Jacob is ranked fifth on the floor exercise and 11th on the balance beam. Jacob led the Crimson Tide on the floor exercise this week, scoring a 9.900 for the seventh consecutive time this season. Junior Diandra Milliner and senior Marissa Gutierrez move up to seventh and 12th in the vault rankings. Gutierrez won the vault against the Razorbacks, tying her career-best with a 9.95.

 Junior Sarah DeMeo retains her seventh place ranking on the uneven bars after posting a 9.9 to win the event at Arkansas. Seniors Ashley Sledge and Ashley Priess are 20^th and 24th respectively on the uneven bars.

 Alabama returns to Coleman Coliseum this Friday at 7:30 p.m. to face the Bruins. It will be Alabama's fourth 2013 home meet and first meet against a non-SEC opponent this season. The Crimson Tide is undefeated at home this season.
