2013 WOGA Classic Results: Kocian and Baumann are Back!


 
Madison Kocian of WOGA returned from injury to post a great 55.450 all around to top the field. Kocian is a first year senior international elite this year hoping to regain her place on the U.S. National team. Kocian showed an upgraded routine on uneven bars, scoring an impressive 14.650, the highest score of the day so far on the event. Kocian will return to the arena to compete a few events in tonight's premier international elite session. Click here to watch a video interview with Madison after today's competition. 

Alyssa Baumann of WOGA also returned from injury, competing in her first competition in two years today. She recovered from an early fall to win the junior age division and qualify back to the U.S. Classic with a 53.050. Her high score of the day came on beam where she earned a 14.10. Their WOGA teammate Samantha Ogden will also be joining them this summer at the Classic, qualifying with a 52.550 and taking second place in the junior division. 

Taylor Lawson of Parkettes took third all around for juniors and will advance to Classics, scoring a 51.850.  

Nadia Cho of WOGA and Ariana Agrapides of MG Elite also advanced to the Classic, scoring exactly a 51.00. Agrapides won the junior vault title with a 14.250. 

Asia DeWalt of WOGA won the Hopes 12-13 age division and advanced to the U.S. Challenge, the Hopes (pre-elite) division of the U.S. Classic. 

You can watch every elite session LIVE today on Gymnastike. Session two of today's optional elite qualifiers will begin at approximately 1:30pm CST. Warmups are currently underway. Then the premier elite session will begin at 6:30pm CST.
