LSU's Lloimincia Hall earned Southeastern Conference Gymnast of the Week recognition Wednesday after she played a huge role in LSU's 196.875-196.575 upset win against No. 3 Florida last Friday.

As the final performer of the meet, Hall needed at least a 9.675 or better to seal the win, and she did much better than that - nailing her floor routine to win the event with a 9.95 and sending the Tigers to victory.

Hall led LSU by tying her career high in the all-around with a 39.450 to place second in the meet.

A sophomore from Dallas, Texas, Hall also tied her career high on beam with a 9.875, and she finished a quarter-tenth off her career best on bars as she posted a 9.825.

Hall's floor title against Florida is her first event crown of the season and the 11th of her career. Hall ranks No. 2 nationally on floor with a 9.95 average, and she is No. 10 in the all-around with a 39.350 average.

The gymnast of the week honor is the first of her career. Hall earned two SEC Freshman of the Week honors last season.

It marks the second straight gymnast of the week honor for LSU as Rheagan Courville received the award last week, and Sarie Morrison also earned SEC Specialist of the Week after her performance against North Carolina State in the opener.

No. 5 LSU (2-0, 1-0 SEC) will take on No. 6 Alabama (1-0, 1-0) in Tuscaloosa at 7:30 p.m. CT Friday in Coleman Coliseum. Live audio will be available free of charge in the Geaux Zone at www.LSUsports.net/live.
