Nastia Liukin: New Campaign
2008 Olympic all-around champion Nastia Liukin is one of several athletes and celebrities who are participating in an effort to raise awareness of bullying prevention during October, which is National Bullying Prevention Month. The "Be Good to Each Other" campaign features T-shirts with anti-bullying messages that are designed by athletes and celebrities.
In addition to Liukin, other athletes and celebrities who are participating include Ray Rice, Baltimore Ravens; Rebecca Black, teen pop star; Janel Parrish, "Pretty Little Liars"; Katie Leclerc, "Switched at Birth"; Kylie Morgan, "Opening Act"; David Boudia, 2012 Olympic diving gold medalist; and Micha Jesse, entertainment personality.
"So many people in our society today are affected by bullying," said Liukin, who has earned five Olympic and nine World medals during her career. "It's important to realize the physical and emotional harm that can be caused. If we all do our part and take a stand against bullying, the world will be a better place"
The slogan on the shirt designed by Liukin says, "stop bullying and start reaching for your dreams." For more information, go to pacer.org.
